Music of Bengal starts its journey with Kamal Ahmed’s ‘Mohakobi’ | The Daily Star

Music of Bengal recently started its journey with an opening ceremony of the audio album ‘Mohakobi’ by noted singer Kamal Ahmed, which is dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The album was released on December 16.

The unveiling ceremony of Music Of Bengal`s logo and the releasing of the audio album, sponsored by the Petroleum Corporation, was held at Officer’s Club in Dhaka.

Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid was present as chief guest. Abu Bakar Siddiq, Chairman, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, Sheikh Sadi Khan, music director, Rabindra Sangeet exponent Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, and renowned music director Anisur Rahman Tanu among others were present as guests at the event. The event was chaired by Kamal Ahmed, Chairman of Music of Bengal.

Songs of the album, ‘Mohakobi’ include “Akasher Moto Bishal Hridoy”, “Sheikh Mujiber Kache Moder Reen”, “Mohakaler Mohakabyo Bangladesh”, “Pakhira Daklo Nam Dhore”, “Bangla Namer Noukay Chilo”, “Protidin Surjo Uthe” and “Bangladesh Tumi Ek Chetona” among others.

The lyricists of the album are Ashim Saha, Mujahidul Haq Lenin, Jibon Chowdhury, Jahangir Rana and Maksud Jamil Mintu among others.
